Laguna Meth is a musical vehicle whose shepherd is Michael Laguna AKA me. I write and produce songs mainly for the kids to hear but also of course for any older people who still really enjoy and need music in their lives.

I grew up in California and always felt that writing good songs and producing them in cool and energizing way would be my main contribution to society. After travelling and honing my craft for the last ten years I am pleased to finally see the album Laguna the Puma and its songs begin to make their way out into the world.

I will get a great band together and be playing shows hopefully by late summer. There are an album's worth of new songs that I will be bringing to life shortly as well. Thanks for reading this and I hope you enjoy the music.

NME - DEC 2007 - 7 OUT OF 10 by Stephen Worthy
Michael Laguna’s ragged shoegazing trip takes in conversations with ‘Mickey Maus’ which is perfectly normal, and ‘Dead Dude From Def Leopard’ which is nightmarish on so many levels. Not for the faint hearted.

Q - JAN 2008 - 4 OUT OF 5 STARS by Garry Mulholland
Sugar Shack and Laguna Meth itself boast acid-pop melodies and arrangements of towering loveliness. A maverick, quirky and often beautiful curio.

MOJO - JAN 2008 - 3 OUT OF 5 STARS by Martin Aston
‘Laguna The Puma’ sounds of a piece with the cream of the Elephant 6 collective’s 60’s into 90’s blueprint. But what separates Laguna from that pack is a more frazzled edge that’s part Daniel Johnson, part early Mercury Rev.

UNCUT - MAR 2008 - 4 OUT OF 5 STARS by Gavin Martin
Songs such as “Lucifer O” confirm the album’s status as a lost classic.

LONDON LITE - DEC 2007 - 5 OUT OF 5 STARS by Paul Connolly
A frothy swirl of gently psychedelic pop underpinned by robust melodies, an approach that reaches its zenith on the delicately hazy beauty of ‘Sugar Shack’. If Laguna The Puma is anything to go by, Michael still has a very real shot at greatness.

GIGWISE.COM - DEC 2007 - 4 OUT OF 5 STARS by Jo Williams
‘Laguna The Puma’ is jam packed full of lush harmonies and attention to detail and although it may first appear to be rather schizophrenic after a few listens it all melts together to grow into an interesting journey.

Indie LONDON - DEC 2007 - 4 OUT OF 5 STARS by Jack Foley
‘Laguna The Puma’ is a journey through the head of Michael Meth’s mind that keeps you listening and wanting to hear more.

SUBBA CULTCHA NEWS - DEC 2007 - 4 OUT OF 5 STARS by Paul Raven
If this album really is the painstaking creation of one man, a man described by the tiny biog on the CD sleeve as “a solitary visionary embarking on a journey through space, time and rock”. I take my hat off to him.
